What’s at Stake?
- $4.2 million in K-12 school funding for Columbia County’s 8,584 students.
- Scappoose 1J: $1.06 million ($435.80 per student)
- Clatskanie SD 6J: $444,950 ($431.42 per student)
- Rainier SD 13: $570,010 ($438.07 per student)
- Vernonia SD 47J: $359,220 ($431.80 per student)
- St. Helens SD 502: $1.75 million ($434.89 per student)
- Portland Community College, which serves many Columbia County residents: If the measures fail, PCC could be forced to raise tuition 9%, cap enrollment, suspend programs, and eliminate faculty positions as a result of a 5% reduction in Community College State Funding.
- Portland State University could lose $7.08 million, resulting in higher tuition, staff and faculty layoffs, and program reductions.
