What’s at Stake?
- $1.3 million in K-12 school funding for Baker County’s 2,208 students.
- Baker SD 5J: $1.1 million ($444.55 per student)
- Huntington SD 16J: $76,900 ($428.93 per student)
- Burnt River SD 30J: $56,130 ($420.33 per student)
- Pine Eagle SD 61: $128,780 ($439.80 per student)
- Blue Mountain Community College: If measures fail BMCC might have to raise tuition 9%, cap enrollment, suspend programs, and eliminate faculty positions as a result of a 5% reduction in Community College State Funding.
- The Powder River Correctional Facility, which could be cut entirely. The facility can house up to 286 inmates and currently employs 98 people.
- Baker County Courts, which could close one day a week
- A tax break for 639 unemployed people, who will receive a tax refund on the first $2,400 they got in unemployment
